Jesus said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.  What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:23-26)
 
What does it mean to deny ourselves? To take up our cross daily and lose our lives?

Putting on the Belt of Truth

Hopefully, by this point we have been able to convince you that those who confess Jesus as the Christ are to be His disciples, and exactly what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. However, in doing so, we then raise the question of what does it look like to be a disciple of Jesus on a daily basis; how are we to practically imitate and obey Jesus as His disciple?

What Does It Mean to “Have a Relationship with Jesus”?

Unfortunately, in many of the churches within the immediate culture and context of His Words His Ways Fellowship, what is clearly demonstrated by our actions and our words is that we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we could have a relationship with the Bible; …rather than have a relationship with Him.
