The Armor of God as The Marks of a Disciple of Jesus

The ultimate mark of a disciple is conformity to the image of their master/teacher/rabbi through imitating and obeying him. John the Apostle (one of Jesus’ first disciples and His earthly best friend) cited obedience to, and imitation of, Jesus as the only true proofs of salvation (1 John 2:3-6).

With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay alert in this, with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18, HCSB).
 
Even though prayer is not listed as a specific piece of the Armor of God, Paul presented it as overlaying the entire armor.
